I usually only read sci-fi but this book popped up & looked interesting, so I downloaded & read. This story is always moving, and it is not obvious as to what will happen next, surprises every few pages and often every page. It turns out the book is more than interesting, it is a a commanding read, couldn't put it down & when I had to, came back as soon as I could. The characters are well developed, although they are revealed a little at a time throughout the story & developments keep the reader guessing, what's next? I highly recommend it and based on the excerpt for part two, really can't wait to continue the story. The way this is written, setting up for an untold number of following books but still the story "closes" at the end of the book and doesn't leave you hanging, only leaves you wanting more.Product details

I read this after reading New World and Hair of the Bear. I enjoyed those very much.
This book is written well, it's just meant for a different audience. Probably teen girls.
In spite of the predictable storyline, the book held my interest. The fact that I am leaving a review means The read was worthwhile
The characters are well developed and carry the story. A little slow in their development but once established action all the way. Looking forward to the next book.
White, is absolutely brilliant in his take on what comprises the "-hood" of this ancient sect of warrior-assassins. It's perhaps lacking in some aspects--originality, genre-wise, but 'The Nine Wiles' is very refreshing.
I won't cut and press shapes for just 'who' this very read will adhere to the best; I recommend to anyone and everyone, not just the demographical audience toward whom it tends--teenagers.
If anyone really, REALLY likes this story, you should also tide yourselves over in the meanwhile with S. W. White's short, "Ninja's aren't Strong."

This book is hard to put down until you finish reading it. This is a good book for teenagers and the young at heart. Good plot, characters well developed and a cliffhanger that will make you hurry to get the next in the series.
I have to admire SW White for her adventurous story. This is a face paced book with wholesome characters and an interesting plot. I’m looking forward to the next book!
Steven White is a marvelously talented writer who also has an incredible imagination. It's especially hard to add originality when you're writing about a subject that people already have established conventions in their minds (like Ninja warriors, for example), but Steven has done just that and done it brilliantly! Even though the hero and heroine are teenagers, the story is so good that it definitely shouldn't be limited only to young adult readers; I'm over 60 and I thoroughly enjoyed every page and I can't wait until Steven finishes the next book so I can revisit this world and catch up with what's happened So, if you like well written and well edited sword-and-sorcery stories that you can really sink your teeth into, then hurry and download this one ASAP!! I guarantee that you won't be disappointed!! Happy Reading! ❤️
